Dr. Hernandez is a 1990 graduate of Mt Juliet High School. After graduation, he served 4 years in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. Upon returning to Tennessee, he enrolled at the University of Tennessee at Martin, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California. While in California, Dr Hernandez was involved with numerous local and international dental volunteer projects, earning him a 2005 Humanitarian award. To his credit, he continues to volunteer his time and skills providing comprehensive dental care to underprivileged people both locally and throughout the world
Since 2008, Dr Hernandez has maintained a private practice in Nashville. He is very active in local study clubs and travels throughout the country to attend the most cutting edge courses in cosmetics, implants and 3D imaging. Dr Hernandez is one of only 5 CEREC Mentors in the state of Tennessee. As a Mentor, he is often a guest speaker for local dental meetings and holds live patient events in his office for other dentists. The Mentor designation is a testament to his commitment to training and providing the most up-to-date dentistry available today.
Dr. Bobby was born and raised in Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Philosophy. After college, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to receive his dental training at Meharry Medical College. During dental school, he was active in serving the community, acting as philanthropy chair of the Ewell Neill Dental Club. While receiving his dental training he also completed two oral surgery externships: one at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and another at the University of Cincinnati. After he received his DDS in 2013, he accepted a position as the staff dentist of the Dickson County Health Department in Dickson, Tennessee where he provided dental care to underserved and low-income populations.
After serving the health department for four years, Dr. Bobby chose to practice at Lifetime Dentistry because of the state of the art and relational patient care that Dr. Hernandez and the Lifetime dental team provides.
Dr. Bobby and his wife, Bethany, were married in 2010 and currently reside in Nashville with their two daughters. They also have one dog which they rescued in 2014. Outside of dentistry, he is active at his church, Green Hills Church, where he serves as an elder. When he is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, going to Climb Nashville, and checking out Nashville’s food scene.
